Glasgow has visitor attractions to suit all tastes, ranging from the historical
to the modern.
One of Glasgow's most striking landmarks is the City Chambers
building in George Square, and guided tours of the interior are run regularly. Close to the Cathedral
lies the Necropolis, which offers visitors the chance to wander
amidst the gravestones of many of Glasgow's famous names.
Another architectural wonder is Glasgow Cathedral, located just a few minutes walk from the City Centre. Glasgow also boasts one of the largest reference libraries in Europe, the Mitchell Library.
For the more active, on the banks of the Clyde there is the highly interactive Science Centre, close to the Tall Ship.
And no tour of Glasgow's visitor attractions is complete without seeing some of the work of Glasgow architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Some examples of his iconic design are the Willow Tea Rooms, and the recently refurbished Glasgow Lighthouse.
Finally, if you are interested in sport, there are regular high-level competitions and events staged at the Kelvin Hall and the National Indoor Sports Arena.
