Scotland is a very popular desination for fishing holidays and angling breaks,
and boasts many spectacular rivers, lochs and burns, as well as sea fishing
from shore and boat. World famous salmon and trout rivers include the River
Tweed, River Tay, River Spey and the River Dee, although there are around one
hundred salmon rivers altogether. Scotland's many hill lochs provide fishing for
wild brown trout, and rainbow trout and carp can be caught at some of Scotland's
many commercial stillwater fisheries. Fishermen on sea angling trips can expect
to find primarily cod, pollack and bass.
Glasgow's location in the West of Scotland, together with its good transport links allows you to experience the best fishing Scotland has to offer, from hotel accommodation within Scotland's most vibrant city. Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond offer excellent salmon and trout fishing, and are located within easy travelling distance from the Sandyford Hotel in Glasgow.
Spacious and cozy large beds. Breakfast was fantastic, better than I've had at 5 star hotels. Staff very helpful & friendly. There is also free use of computer and coffee/tea facilities at reception, as well as a library of information leaflets about area.
