The Ferry is a very interesting venue for an evening of entertainment in an unusual setting. The Renfrew Ferry was the last important passenger and vehicle transporter operating between Yorker and Renfrew and it carried thousands of people across the River Clyde every day. It was in operation from 1952 until 1984 when other forms of transport took over. Luckily The Ferry was given a second life as a multi-purpose entertainment venue. It was first moored at Windmillcroft Quay in Glasgow and played host to a wide range of events. Since 2005 and a major refurbishment, The Ferry is now located at Anderston Quay close to the City Centre.
This major leisure venue houses a restaurant, the Top Deck, providing lunch and dinner menus from Tuesday through Sunday, and puts on a wide variety of concerts and entertainment including a number of talented tribute bands who recall the hits of performers as diverse as David Bowie, Take That, Rory Gallagher or The Sex Pistols.
