Provand's Lordship Hotels

Hotels near Provand's Lordship Glasgow Provand's Lordship is the only surviving house from the medieval city of Glasgow. Built in 1471, the Provand's Lordship has been restored to give a real taste of life in medieval Glasgow. Originally built by the Bishop of Glasgow as part of St Nicholas's Hospital, the bishop's coat of arms is still visible on the south gable. The house takes its present name from one of its later residents, popularly known the 'Lord of Provan'. The Provand's Lordship Society managed to preserve the house at a time when all the other medieval buildings surrounding Glasgow Cathedral were demolished.

Glasgow Provand's Lordship is located to the north of Glasgow's city centre, and is close to St. Mungo's Museum of Religious Life and Art, and Glasgow Cathedral.
