Pollock House was given to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Mrs. Anne Maxwell Macdonald, and the house and its collection of paintings, porcelain and furnishings is maintained by Scotland's National Trust. There is a restaurant serving morning coffee, lunches, afternoon tea and home baking, and also has a gift shop.

The Burrell Collection is a spectacular collection of over 9,000 pieces, donated to the City of Glasgow by wealthy industrialise Sir William Burrell in 1944.
