The SECC is the largest integrated exhibition and conference centre in the UK,
and is Scotland's main national venue for public events. Located on the North
bank of the River Clyde, a more recent addition to the SECC is the Clyde
Auditorium, designed by renowned architect Norman Foster. Because of the sweeping
curves of the building, locals have given it the nickname 'The Armadillo'.
The SECC has played host to many famous names over the years, including the
likes of U2, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Madonna. The SECC is also
used for large, high-profile exhibitions such as the Ideal Homes Exhibition and
the Scottish Wedding Show.
